Summer is not over just yet, which means there’s still time to find the white sneaker of the season. Though we’re still waiting for word on the “Japan BOOST” NMD_R1 Primeknit, adidas Originals is throwing another option into the ring with the NMD_XR1 “Triple White.”
The silhouette is white-hot — an ultra-clean mesh upper offers breathability beneath a leather overlay cage. It sits on top of a white BOOST sole, of course, with matching EVA inserts to complete the look.
More colorways of the adidas NMD XR1 Primeknit for women are on the way, with this pair in shades of grey slated to release later this summer.
A somewhat sleeker version of the NMD with varying cage construction, EVA plugs in white rest alongside Boost cushioning to complete the look of this women’s exclusive. There is still no word on if this pair will eventually be available in men’s sizing.
If you missed out on the all-white NMD XR1 adidas dropped last month, you can try your luck at another monochromatic take on the sneaker later this week as adi is set to drop a clean “Triple Black” edition of the caged NMD. First highlighted a few weeks back, the Primeknit-constructed kicks opt for an all-black look that extends from the upper to the Boost-cushioned midsole and are a perfect alternative to the limited-edition “Pitch Black” NMD — which was limited to just 500 pairs and reserved for friends, family and 100 lucky Snapchat contest winners — that surfaced in August.
adidas’s NMD iterations continue to evolve as only three days ago new pics of the popular sneaker surfaced on sneakerprophet_‘s IG. Fans of the NMD will notice the new NMD XR1 features a pattern encased by the NMD R2. In addition to the uniquely designed upper, the dark NMDs welcome a black BOOST sole unit underneath, doing away with the previously customary white tooling. Other key details include a black protective cage, leather heel detail, matching EVA plugs and traces of red on the heel tab and rear stitching.
